Based on a series of ethnopharmacological surveys conducted in Bhadrak district during 2014-2016, the study provides first-hand information on folk medicinal claims prevented in rural areas of Basudevpur, Bhadrak, Bhandaripokhari, Chandbali, Tihidi, Dhamnagar blocks of the study area. In the present survey, information on folk medicinal uses of 58 species belonging to 37 families collected from the study area are presented. The collected data for each species are given by scientific names of plant with family, habit, local name, locality with field number, parts used, ailment treated, method of drug preparation, other ingredients (if any) and mode of administration. The study enriches our existing knowledge on folk medicines of this region. A scrutiny of data obtained in this study with the available ethnobotanical literature has brought to light many rare and less known traditional phytotherapeutic uses which need validation through clinical, phytochemical and pharmacological investigations in an attempt
