Description:
A condition in which the size of the liver decreases. Due to this condition liver is unable to perform its metabolic functions and the diet or food which reaches there from stomach remains as it is and causes pain due to distension and diarrhoea. This condition can be congenital(hepatic hypoplasia) as well as acquired. The patients suffering from this condition are diagnosed by the shortening of the
fingers and thinning of the blood vessels. Its possible English equivalent is hepatic atrophy.
