Description:
It means absence of menstruation. It may be of three types: (1) when menstrual cycle does not start even though a woman has passed the usual age of menarche, (2) menstruation occurs but due to obstruction in the passage, menstrual blood does not escape out of the vagina and remains in the uterus, (3) menstrual bleeding starts improperly and after sometime stops. Its possible English
equivalent is amenorrhoea.
